1. Educational Purposes Only
The information on scottdeanintegration.com, including journal entries, guided meditations, and the Self-Assessment, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended to be, and should not be used as, a substitute for professional medical, psychological, psychiatric, or legal advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The Self-Assessment is a reflective tool, not a diagnostic instrument. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or heard on this website.
2. Coaching Is Not Therapy or Medical Care
Scott Dean is a coach. He is not a licensed psychotherapist, counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist, physician, dietitian, or other licensed healthcare provider, and coaching is not a substitute for their care. Scott does not diagnose, treat, or cure any mental health or medical condition, and he does not prescribe or advise on medication.
Coaching can be a meaningful complement to therapy and medical care. If you are currently working with a healthcare provider, we encourage you to continue that care and to let your provider know you are working with a coach. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any changes to your medication, diet, or treatment.
3. Scott’s Training and Background
Scott’s work draws on training and lived experience in the following areas:
- Coaching: training in transformational and trauma-informed coaching, which supports clients in exploring emotional patterns, identity, and personal growth.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS): training in the IFS model developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz. Scott offers IFS-informed coaching. He is not an IFS therapist, and his services are not provided, endorsed, or supervised by the IFS Institute.
- Psychology of Eating: certification through the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, which informs coaching around the emotional and behavioral relationship with food and the body. This is not a nutrition, dietetic, or medical credential, and Scott does not treat eating disorders. If you are experiencing an eating disorder, please seek care from a qualified medical or mental health professional.
- Psychedelic-assisted coaching: training as a psychedelic-assisted coach, supporting clients in preparing for and integrating psychedelic and sacred medicine experiences.
- Mentorship: Scott offers mentorship grounded in his training and lived experience. Mentorship is a supportive, non-clinical relationship. It is not clinical supervision, therapy, or training toward any professional license.
Scott’s work may also incorporate somatic awareness, mindfulness practices, and Reiki. These are complementary practices, not medical or psychological treatment. The certifications and trainings described here are issued by private organizations and are not state-issued professional licenses.
4. Psychedelic and Sacred Medicine Disclaimer
Scott Dean Integration does not sell, supply, provide, or administer psilocybin, MDMA, ayahuasca, or any other controlled or illegal substance, and nothing on this website encourages illegal activity. Many psychedelic substances remain illegal under U.S. federal law and the laws of most states and countries. In Oregon, psilocybin services are legal only when provided at a licensed service center by a licensed facilitator under the Oregon Psilocybin Services Act.
Preparation and integration support is educational and harm-reduction focused. Any decision to use a psychedelic substance is yours alone, and you are responsible for complying with the laws where you live. Psychedelics carry real physical and psychological risks, particularly for people taking certain medications (such as antidepressants, MAOIs, or lithium), people with heart conditions, and people with a personal or family history of psychosis or bipolar disorder. Please consult a qualified medical professional before considering any psychedelic experience.
5. Confidentiality
What you share with Scott is held in strict confidence. Scott will not share your identity or the content of your sessions without your written permission, except in the limited circumstances described below and in our Privacy Policy. Because Scott is a coach rather than a licensed healthcare provider, your communications are not protected by HIPAA and may not be legally privileged in the way communications with a licensed therapist or physician can be.
Reporting potential harm to self or others
Confidentiality has legal and ethical limits. Scott may disclose information without your consent, and may take action to protect safety, when:
- He believes you are at imminent risk of seriously harming yourself, which may include contacting emergency services, a crisis line, or a person you have designated;
- He believes you pose an imminent risk of serious harm to another person, which may include notifying law enforcement or the person at risk;

- Disclosure is required by a court order, subpoena, or other law.
Whenever it is safe and appropriate, Scott will talk with you before taking any of these steps.

You remain responsible for your own choices, actions, and wellbeing, both during and after our work together. Every person’s path is different, and Scott Dean Integration makes no promises or guarantees about specific outcomes.
